‘The school curriculum should be designed to help all children to develop in relation to clear and agreed purposes.’ Successful Futures 2015

What an exciting opportunity we have!

For the first time, school leaders are entrusted to design and implement their own curriculum within the parameters of the National Framework. No longer a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach but a bespoke and crafted curriculum unique to your school.

Exciting? Yes.

Daunting? Yes.

So where do we start?

This one day course provides the head-space and thinking time for senior leaders to consider the key elements and processes that are needed for quality curriculum design.

Course participants will:

  • Interpret how the intent of the National Framework guides and influences school level curriculum design.
  • Identify the process of developing and implementing a contextually based curriculum that derives from the Four Purposes.
  • Further develop essential elements for exciting, purposeful and connected learning experiences within curriculum design.
  • Plan the process of design for their school, respecting its context, attributes and challenges.
  • Consider ways in which the impact of a bespoke and crafted curriculum can be valued, nurtured and appraised.
  • Create tangible next steps for this exciting journey.
