This course provides a platform for exploring the possibilities in the outdoors for older learners.
Outdoor Learning values direct experience as it provides a dramatic contrast to the indoor environment for learners of all ages. It can be more motivating and inviting. It can have a greater impact and credibility for children who are deemed to be ‘nature deficient’.
During this practical course we explore how, through skilled teaching and facilitation, outdoor learning readily becomes a stimulating source of fascination and inquiry. We consider the practicalities and barriers which need addressing within different contexts.
Course participants will:
Target Audience: Primary Teachers in PS2 and PS3, and School Leaders
This course can be delivered in-school only.
