A ‘deep dive’ training day that equips teachers with the skills and understanding to effectively teach core concepts of mathematics using the Singapore approach. This one day course is aimed at colleagues who have completed the two-day introduction to Singapore Maths; this is a pre-requisite. (It can be added as a third day to the two-day training event occurring in the same week in May 2024.)
Ban Har leads delegates through key areas so they are equipped with the skills to reflect on and hone their own practice to mastery level. Through exposition, delegates explore the core concepts that underpin the Singapore method using examples from number bonds, fractions, measures, algebra, and bar modelling.
Prime your practice to further embed the principles of Curriculum for Wales and deepen your understanding of a range of theories so that you leave ready to both teach and to inspire others in the teaching of mathematics.
We encourage previous attendees to return for this professional development opportunity to further their skill set and also offer this as an extension to the two-day course running in the same week.
