The Early Years Last a Lifetime – Dan Wuori

Join us as we welcome Dr. Dan Wuori for his first and only 2025 appearance in Wales. Known the world over for his daily child development lessons on social media, Dr. Wuori will explore common misconceptions about the early years and make the case for why our experiences during early childhood influence us for a lifetime.

This interactive, day-long session will explore:

 • Three simple truths about child development and how they should serve as the basis for our planning for children (at both the family and public policy levels).

• How secure attachments are formed and why this may be the single most critical developmental outcome during the first year of life.

• How and why interactions during the earliest years of life shape children’s literacy and academic outcomes for years to come.

• Why children don’t remember their earliest years, but their brains and bodies do.

• How a working knowledge of child development can – and should – inform our approach to parenting.

• The return on investment to taxpayers associated with high quality investments in young children and why the success of children is in all of our best interests.

Schools and non-maintained settings, senior leaders, teachers, practitioners, early years advisors, and family engagement officers. Colleagues working to support parents through ALN and Community Focused Schools.
