Introduction
Current international public health activity is aimed at reducing the spread of the currently circulating novel coronavirus, which causes COVID-19 infection. This coronavirus is a novel agent whereby there is no immunity in the world’s population to the infection. The two main methods of preventing the spread of infection are hygiene measures and social distancing.
The following areas of focus will routinely be implemented alongside the policy of any school or setting when consultants from The Learning Partnership deliver training.
Travel
- When two consultants co-deliver training, they will not share vehicles where suitable distancing cannot be achieved.
Social Distancing
- The number of colleagues attending training in any venue complies with the 2-metre (6.5 foot) gap recommended by Public Health Wales.
- Course activities are re-designed to ensure social distancing is secured.
- Conference calls and digital training to be utilised instead of face-to-face meetings where appropriate.
Hygiene
- Regular use of hand washing facilities with soap and water.
- Regular stringent hand washing.
- Drying of hands with disposable paper towels.
- Use of gel sanitisers in any area where washing facilities are not readily available.
Cleaning
- Designated work space for materials and personal effects to be wiped down before and after training.
- Frequent cleaning and disinfecting of objects and surfaces that are touched regularly by the consultant using appropriate cleaning products and methods.
- Safe disposal of cleaning cloths and wipes.
Ventilation
- Wherever possible the training area must be well ventilated by opening windows to allow fresh air to circulate.
New Symptoms of Covid-19
- If anyone becomes unwell with a new continuous cough or a high temperature during training they will be sent home and advised to follow the stay at home guidance.
- Other colleagues present during training will be advised to self-isolate for the recommended period in line with Public Health Wales Guidance.
